Indoor Premier Championship Results
FTNC Premier Reserve 47 vs Marist Verdettes Premier 38
Marist Verdettes Old Girls 91 vs Nottingham Castle Rangers 39
St Peters Cambridge Open A 50 vs Waikato Diocesan Open A 37
Uni Premier 78 vs FTNC Premier 34

In the third and final week of the Trust Waikato Hamilton City Netball Centre championship round of premier indoor netball prior to finals there were some big scores.

The closest game was that between Fraser Tech Netball Centre Premier Reserve and Marist Verdettes Premier.

The first quarter was tight with only two goals the difference with FTNC Premier Reserve in the lead.

By half time the lead had transferred to Marist Verdettes Premier with them leading by one goal.

The score was 21 goals to 20. The third quarter was a draw and it was only in the final quarter that FTNC Premier Reserve made any traction and they ended up winning 47 goals to 38.

Overall a good performance by Marist Verdettes Premier for three quarters of the game and good perseverance by FTNC Premier Reserve.

The other close game was that between the two school teams, St Peters Cambridge Open A and Waikato Diocesan Open A.

Again this was very close at the end of the first quarter with St Peters Cambridge Open A with a one goal lead.

They then dominated in the second quarter to pull ahead and this really was the difference in the game.

At half time the score was 35 goals to 18. The third quarter was again very close with only two goals the difference and the final quarter only four goals the difference.

The final score was 50 goals to 37. This was an athletic and competitive games between these two teams especially over three quarters of the game and good preparation for both teams leading into UNISS (Upper North Island Secondary Schools).

It was an improved performance by Waikato Diocesan Open A from when these two teams last met.

Marist Verdettes Old Girls continued their winning streak with a huge score over Nottingham Castle Rangers.

Marist Verdettes Old Girls were ruthless with only the third quarter a competitive one. At half time the score was 50 goals to 21 and the final score was 91 goals to 39.

In the second and final quarters the Marist Verdettes Old Girls restricted the goals for the opposition to single figures.

The game allowed Marist Verdettes Old Girls to try and variety of combinations. Mid courters Niki Crombie at wing attack and Alix Boe at centre show great intensity in the first half.

For Nottingham Castle Rangers it was a tough ask but they showed patience on attack in the first half.

The team lost momentum and performance dropped in the second half. Standouts were Tiana Parker at goal defence and goal keep and Tegan Broomfield at goal defence with some good vision and drives by Chanay Peri at wing attack.

Uni Premier also had a big win this week following their disappointment from last week.

The game against FTNC Premier was predicted to be more competitive than it was. Uni had great start to lead by 41 goals to 20 at half time. The second quarter was much the same with FTNC Premier never seeming to catch a break.

Overall it was a very low scoring game by FTNC Premier so not their normal performance.

Uni Premier will be pleased with this performance leading into finals next week. The final score was 78 goals to 34.

Standouts for Uni Premier was Laura Langman at centre and Ariana Cable Dixon at wing attack with some outstanding feeds.

For finals on 30 August 2018 all teams will play to determine final rankings so 3 vs 4, 5 vs 6 and 7 vs 8.

Trust Waikato Hamilton City Netball Centre Thursday Open Grade
