Missing hunter found in Kaimai Range overnight

A local hunter missing in the Kaimai Range last night sparked an overnight police and landsar volunteer search for him.

The 27-year-old was reported overdue in the Kaimai Ranges, near the Killarney Lakes, south of Te Aroha and police said he had limited bush experience.

He was last seen at 8pm last night when he separated from his hunting group, wearing a t-shirt and shorts and had no equipment with him.

Searchers were in the bush overnight located the missing man in the safe and well in the early hours of this morning.
