Drugs, guns and ammunition have been found during series of police searches around the Bay today.

Detective Sergeant Paul Barron said Western Bay of Plenty police seized methamphetamine, firearms and ammunition after the searches at addresses in Tauranga, Papamoa and Maketu.

The warrants targeted methamphetamine suppliers.

Police seized 2kg of methamphetamine, high-powered firearms and ammunition.

Mr Barron said police were still looking to find and speak with those involved and were confident criminal charges would result.
