Investigations into a walkway from Memorial Park to The Strand have been put off until at least 2018.
Tauranga City Council had resolved earlier this year to allocate $30,000 for an investigation into the project.
The investigation was to inform a review of the walkway concept that would be consideredas part of the 2016-17 Annual Plan.
Elected members voted today to defer the funding on the basis that an investigation into the walkway/cycleway between Memorial Park and The Strand was not a high priority for the city when balanced against other current projects.
It is now recommended that this subject be included for consideration through the 2018-2028 Long Term Plan process.
