What's the most challenging aspect of your role?
To stay fresh, and bring something new to every project. We're a small business in a small city in a small country. It's an ongoing focus to absorb what's going on around us, both locally and internationally so we can be constantly adding value to clients.
What's your proudest work moment?
I'm proudest when I see our insights being used by clients to really benefit their business.
What training and experience did you have?
My background is in marketing and psychology and the work that I do really is a blend of the two. Prior to setting up Delve I worked in bigger research agencies in Auckland and Wellington for many years, and have also been exposed to wider marketing and business roles in London.
What's the best piece of career advice you've received?
Read, read, and read some more. The best boss I ever had was always encouraging me to broaden my business knowledge by reading widely.
What's the most important thing your role has taught you?
There is such a lot to manage when you're running a business. I really respect business owners, you have to be so motivated and tenacious to be successful.
How would you describe your work wardrobe?
Casual. My corporate wardrobe - which to be honest was never really that impressive - has long gone. I'm a big fan of colour, I try hard not to wear black. And I'm quite partial to a simple dress and boots.
