Police are making enquiries after a man was stabbed at a Tauranga property. Photo/file

A man has been stabbed in Tauranga.

A police media spokeswoman said officers were making enquiries following a stabbing in Merivale yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened at a property on Henderson Cres about 3pm.

The spokeswoman said a seriously injured man took himself to Tauranga Hospital and police were notified.

The man was now in a stable condition, she said.
