Man arrested after woman injured in Mt Maunganui stabbing

A woman has reportedly been stabbed this evening in the popular holiday spot of Mount Maunganui.

Police said a man had been arrested after officers were called to reports of a stabbing on Nikau Cres in the Tauranga suburb at 6:24 this evening.

A woman had received moderate injuries.

Police said the arrested man remained in custody and a knife had been recovered.
