Logging truck crash spills onto SH2

A logging truck has crashed on State Highway 2 in the Bay of Plenty.

One of the log-laden trailers has tipped on the road near Otamarakau, between Matata and Pongakawa.

The crash happened about 8.30am and has blocked the northbound lane but traffic was still able to move past it if travelling.

Motorist Justin Scott said most of the logs were off the side of the road and it did not look as though anyone was hurt.

Emergency services were just arriving, he said.
