Snodgrass Road residents are concerned after a king tide hit earlier today. Made with funding from NZ On Air.
Bay of Plenty Civil Defence is advising people to consider self-evacuation ahead of tonight's second king tide. The main risks are now high winds and coastal inundation caused by large swells.
The king tide at 10.40am today caused flooding to a number of coastal areas and homes including Snodgrass Rdin Te Puna.
Tonight's king tide may have a similar result – but could affect different areas depending on the wind direction, Civil Defence said.
