A light plane crashed at Tauranga Airport earlier this morning.

Emergency services were at the scene where a privately-owned Cessna crash-landed at the end of the airport runway.

The pilot was the only occupant and walked away with no injuries.

The nose wheel appears to have broken and the plane was tipped forward with the propeller on the ground.
