Re: Council cancels Illuminate Paint Party
Tauranga City Council is run by a bunch of old people who only know how to please people 60 years plus.
Why would they want to shut down an event that is going to bring revenue into this city? When Tauranga is pretty dead from March
until November, shops are closing early since they are losing more money that they are making, there are no events for any ages full stop.
The council has taken away everything that was fun about the Mount.
It's a paint party and when it's over everyone goes home and cleans up - no one hangs around the streets creating chaos.
I went to the original paint party in Wellington. It was well organised and an awesome night. People had fun and there was drama and taxi companies were lining up outside with plastic seat covers ready to take everyone home.
No wonder kids are hanging around the streets these days. When you take away organised events like this, there is nothing to do for the younger generation.
And bring back the Sandbar - another fun thing that the old councillors have denied Tauranga.
