LABEL WE LOVE

NYNE
www.nyne.co.nz
Local Stockist: Wallis, High St

What inspired you to create NYNE?

With the three of us (directors Patrick, Miranda Dawson and Jacob Scott-Simmonds) feeling at a standstill, or crossroads, in our careers, we decided to amalgamate our skills and experience in fashion and graphic design. Perhaps a little naive to understand the extent of what we were about to embark on...NYNE was founded.

We focused on meeting the market, creating strong simple high-quality silhouettes and offering an all-made-in-NZ product at a competitive price point. This is still our ethos today.

The label has evolved over the years, but holds true to its basic elements, providing clothes for the effortlessly cool woman.

The typical NYNE woman is...

Understated with a cool edge, she has an effortless demeanour while still being fashion forward. She has an understanding and appreciation for clever artful layering and design. The NYNE woman has "casual cool" down to an art.

NYNE was born in the Waikato in 2004 with a long-term goal to be coastal based in 10 years.

Having reached that milestone this year, we are finally living that dream. The plan was actioned early last year, with our production manager and design assistant happy to make the move. With all three directors having family in the Bay, it seemed the most obvious choice. We run our wholesale business from Mount Maunganui servicing our 70 Australasian stockists. We operate our flagship store, The White Room, from 135 Ward St in Hamilton. We can operate our wholesale business from any part of the country, but having so many successful creative industries in the area makes it a lot more exciting. NYNE is very happy to be settling in the sunny Bay of Plenty.

NYNE is part of our indulge Outlet Sale on September 27, at ASB Baypark. Come and shop among some of our favourite local and national designers at outlet prices.
