A gas leak in Mt Maunganui was quickly dealt with this morning.

A fire communications spokesman said they were called out to Miro St at about 8.40am to deal with a domestic gas leak.

"It was clamped, the gas company [Vector] came and sorted it within 15 minutes," he said.

He said no one had been evacuated and the leak was resolved without incident.
