Tauranga Chamber of Commerce is looking to the future with the launch of its new website.
This week, the chamber unveiled its revamped site, which it said, streamlined the way it was used.
It was the first change to the site since it was introduced eight years ago.
Chamber of Commerce chief executive
Max Mason said the new website would look to use new technologies as they became available.
"We're using Twitter at the moment but we want to look at other things like YouTube broadcasts, webinars and a whole range of things that make the best use of technology to showcase Tauranga - which is what it's all about."
The new website would integrate the Chamber of Commerce's existing services, including news and event registration.
Mr Mason said the changes would increase productivity.
"The whole thing is automated now and we don't have to spend that extra staff time.
"We're expecting a 15 to 20 per cent gain in productivity. And it will also be a lot more user-friendly, much fresher and appealing."
About 4000 people access the website each month.
"Ultimately we want a lot more of our members and the business community using the website," Mr Mason said.
The site was funded through Chamber of Commerce reserves and sponsorship by website design company Cucumber.
