A special gala day is being held this Sunday in an attempt to turn something tragic into something positive.
On July 20, Kevin and Lindi Jones' woolshed and workshop on their Welcome Bay farm went up in an inferno. Inside was almost everything the livestock farmers used to run theirfarm, which had been collected over generations.
The week after the blaze, Angela, Caitlin, Ashleigh and Megan Jones launched a Givealittle page in a bid to get a new hay baler for their parents.
Insurance for their original hay baler had not been enough to cover a second-hand baler.
This Sunday, Seaview Gala Day will be held at Riding for the Disabled at Welcome Bay to continue the fundraising efforts.
Cat Jones said the gala would include games, workshops, food stalls, a craft market, a raffle, children's activities, and a silent auction.
"We want to turn something tragic into something positive, not just for our family, but for the whole community, to thank everyone for jumping to support us when the fire happened," she said.
Ashleigh Jones said tragedy may have come to their family farm "but we will not let it stay to break our parents".
