I spent many weekends as a kid playing sport.
For years, every Saturday morning and Sunday, I played soccer in the Waikato.
I can vividly remember the frosty mornings, the smell of linament and the cries of parents on the sidelines encouraging all the players. There were scuffs and bruises and plenty
of muddy shirts and boots to clean afterwards.
It was a big part of family life. I'm sure that today little has changed when it comes to weekend school sports.
Today, we capture some of this action with two pages of photos of Bay children trying their best at their chosen sport.
We've got netball and rugby - and the looks on some of these faces are just priceless.
These youngsters are giving it their all.
Over the coming weeks and months, we'll feature more junior sports photo pages on Mondays.
So, if your son or daughter plays, keep an eye out.
You never know, they might just end up in the paper.
