Four-car crash in Mount Maunganui

Totara St has reopened to traffic after a crash this afternoon.

Four cars have crashed at Mount Maunganui.

Police are responding to the crash, which was reported at 1.13pm today.

A police spokeswoman said it is understood four cars were involved in the crash on Totara St. Original reports to police stated the crash was on Hewletts Rd.

A lane was blocked, she said.

A reporter at the scene said a mum could be seen with a child wrapped in a blanket and there was a car badly damaged.
