Police were called about 10.35pm. Photo / File

Two people allegedly fled the scene following a police pursuit in Ōtumoetai overnight.

A police media spokeswoman said the driver of a vehicle, which was reported stolen, failed to stop for police about 10.35pm.

"The vehicle came to a stop on Ōtumoetai Rd and two people fled the scene," she said.

It is understood two people were taken into custody.
