Tim Paton says having a finalist is fantastic.

Tim Paton says having a finalist is fantastic.

A campaign developed by King St, one of the biggest advertising, design and media agencies in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato, has been named a finalist in two categories at this year's TVNZ New Zealand Marketing Awards. The promotion for Holdfast NZ will compete with some of the biggest brands in the business at the awards, which will be decided on August 27.

"To have a finalist is fantastic given the number of marketing campaigns we see in this country each year," said the firm's Tauranga-based general manager, Tim Paton.

The campaign - the "Gorilla King of Foams" for building supplies company Holdfast NZ - parodied TV show Game of Thrones.

Holdfast chief executive Dave Downey said the company had learned the importance of working with an agency where fresh ideas were important.
