Motorists can expect delays on State Highway 2 near Te Puna this weekend.
The New Zealand Transport Agency said tree felling and maintenance work will be carried out between Omokoroa and Esdaile roads between 7am and 5pm on July 21-22.
The hazardous operation required all traffic to be stopped while each tree was felled.
Stop/Go traffic management will be in place, with a 30km temporary speed limit through the work site.
A detour will be available for Northbound light vehicles only to minimise delays at the work site. The detour route will direct motorists left into Youngson Rd, right into Old Highway and another right turn into Esdaile Rd to return to SH2.
