A group of Tauranga Girls' College students have created a special ergonomically designed laptop stand to help prevent bad posture.
The students yesterday donated two support stands to Gate Pa School, to be used by the teachers or students when working with laptop computers.
The support stands were created byYoung Enterprise Scheme team Magenta, made up of students Jasmine Moor, 17, Kodi Minnell, 17, Janaya Worthington, 17, Sasha Gudsell, 18, and Sophie Shrimpton, 17.
Janaya, the team's chief executive, said the support stands helped with posture when sitting and working with a laptop.
"It's aligned to 13 degrees, which helps straighten up your back. It has a gripped surface so your laptop doesn't slip and creates ventilation to stop it overheating."
