Police searched the text messages and phone calls of a Pyes Pa man to uncover drug deals which saw him jailed for three years.
The sentence also included punishment for an incident in which he tried to strangle his partner with a telephone cord.
Pyes Pa man Daniel James Bull, 22, who
is unemployed, had earlier pleaded guilty to 13 charges of offering to supply methamphetamine, two of supplying the drug, three of offers to supply or sell cannabis, plus one charge each of conspiring to supply cannabis and selling cannabis.
Bull also earlier admitted one charge each of assault with intent to use a weapon, assault with intent to injure and threatening to kill, which related to him attempting to strangle his partner at her home in October last year after he was bailed on the drug offences.
Bull was arrested after police obtained a search warrant on October 15 to search his cellphone and his text messages, which revealed he had engaged in numerous drug transactions.
That included Bull offering to supply between $50 to $250 amounts of P via text messages to unknown people onnumerous occasions.
On October 6 he sent 16 text messages to various people indicating he had an ounce of cannabis for sale.
Another transaction on October 9 involved him offering to swap just over 0.15g of P for half an ounce of cannabis and $40 cash.
Bull's lawyer Craig Tuck said since Bull had been in custody he had had a lot of time to reflect on his offending and the direction his life was heading.
Judge Ingram said while Bull's assault on his partner did not result in her suffering any great injury, it had clearly been an extremely frightening experience for her.
