Driver injured, road blocked after logging truck crash in Waioeka Gorge

A logging truck has crashed, injuring its driver and spilling its logs across State Highway 2 at the Waioeka Gorge.

According to a police media statement, the truck went off the road near the Manganuku Stream about 3.15pm, spilling logs which have blocked the road.

The driver is reported to have sustained moderate injuries.

The road will be cleared, and motorists are asked to avoid the area at the moment.
