North-bound traffic travelling past Omokoroa towards Katikati will be detoured for the next two weeks due to road works on State Highway 2.
From today, light traffic will detour via Youngson Road and Old Highway Road to allow for the work to take place from the Waipapa River Bridge tojust south of Francis Road.
Heavy vehicles and residents of Francis Road and Omokoroa Road will be able to access this section of SH2 through a manual stop/go sign but under speed restriction.
The work began at 7.30am and is expected to be completed by Monday February 24, providing weather conditions permit.
