Delays for motorists after SH2 crash

A minor crash on the outskirts of Tauranga has caused delays for more than an hour.

The crash involving a logging truck and car happened about 9.10am near Bethlehem but people were warned of significant delays.

A reporter in the area said traffic was crawling but both lanes of the highway were open.

The truck and car were parked to the side of the road, between Te Paeroa Rd and Wairoa Pa Rd.

A police spokeswoman said the driver of the car was treated at the scene but did not require hospital treatment and the collision was minor.

There was minimal debris on the road but police had received reports of traffic congestion in the area, she said.
