Due to the approaching Cyclone Cook Bay of Plenty Senior rugby games scheduled for tonight and Friday have been postponed for the safety of teams and referees.

Games scheduled for tonight are Te Puna v Mount Maunganui Sports at Maramatanga Park and Te Puke Sports v Paroa at Murray Salt Stadium (rescheduled to Saturday April 15 Development kick-off: 1.00pm Premier kick-off: 2.45pm)

The decision has been made that all games scheduled for Friday April 14 are postponed. No games are to be played as due to road safety reasons referees are not available.

These games include Whakarewarewa v Whakatane Marist at Puarenga Park, Greerton Marist v Poroporo at Greerton Park, Opotiki v Kahukura at Princess St Reserve, Papamoa v Marist St Michaels at Gordon Spratt Reserve, Katikati v Ruatoki at Moore Park and Judea v Waikite at Maharaia Winiata Memorial Park.

Greerton Marist v Poroporo is rescheduled to Saturday 15 April Development kick-off: 12.15pm Premier kick-off: 2.30pm.

Saturday's games will go ahead as planned, however Bay of Plenty Rugby will continue to look at the forecast to see if any changes need to be made and a further update will be provided by 12pm Friday.

Saturday's games include Rotoiti v Tauranga Sports at Emery Park, Rangataua v Arataki at Te Ariki Park, Ngongotaha v Waimana at Ngongotaha Domain.

Games postponed from Thursday and Friday will be officially scheduled to be played on Anzac day (Tuesday 25th April - after 1.00pm). If teams mutually agree, games can either be played Easter Monday or another date agreed by both clubs.
