Bay of Plenty's Junior Secondary teams are ready for action.

Bay of Plenty's Junior Secondary teams are ready for action.

The ND Junior Secondary tournament takes place in Manurewa from today until Friday. Former New Zealand under-19 player and Bay of Plenty representative Sean Davey will coach the Bay of Plenty Coastland team, with Chris Scott in charge of the Bay of Plenty Lakeland side.

Over a decade ago, Bay of Plenty was invited to enter two sides in the Northern Districts Cricket age-group rep tournaments. The BOP Lakeland sides are drawn from Eastern Bay of Plenty, Rotorua and Taupo, with the BOP Coastland players coming from the Western Bay of Plenty.

Last season, Lakeland finished fourth after making the championship semifinals, with Coastland finishing fifth.

Five other Western Bay of Plenty players have been selected for the ND Invitation team. Fergus Lellman, James Beard, Eddie Johnson, Tasman Carson and Carson Wills will come up against plenty of former Bay of Plenty teammates during the five days of competition.
