Crash causes power cut to parts of Paengaroa

A car slammed into a power pole in Paengaroa, causing a power cut to the area.

A Northern Fire Communication spokesman said the incident happened at 5.20am this morning, causing the power lines to fall onto the road.

When the fire appliances arrived the sole occupant was standing outside the car.

First aid was applied to the occupant who suffered moderate injuries.

Powerco expect the power to be restored at 9.30am today.
