UPDATED 9.02am: Awanui Rd will soon be closed in both directions for a short period of time while a truck involved in a crash is removed.

Tauranga Police remain at the scene of the crash on Awanui Rd close to the merge with Hewletts Rd.

Although no one was injured Tauranga Police wish to advise motorists that the road is restricted to one lane only and that significant travel delays are being experienced for motorists travelling from Mount Maunganui to Tauranga.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes or delay travel in this area.
