Coronation Park trees cut down

Two large trees have been removed from Mount downtown's Coronation Park to improve visibility into the park from the road, with other vegetation due to be cleared at the Maunganui Rd/Salisbury Ave corner of the park.
The aim is to increase the safety of the public using the central area of the reserve. Once this work is completed, further clearances would take place at the Nikau Cres end of the reserve.
The clearances will also better showcase specimen trees, including kauri and puriri.
