There's no denying it - Christmas is getting closer.
And if you are wanting to get into a crafty Christmas spirit then Te Puke Library is the place to be next Thursday.
That's the day when customer services representative Linda Mitchell will host a Christmas Crafternoon - a chance tomake your own, unique Christmas tree decoration.
Linda would like to hold regular craft sessions at the library but for various reasons that has not yet happened.
"It would have been a chance for people to just come in and do craft for an hour. It's something they have been doing in Katikati [library]," she says.
"It didn't fly [in Te Puke] because there was so much going on, so I am going all out for a Christmas afternoon."
She says if the one-off is popular, monthly sessions would be considered.
All materials will be provided and the event is free, although there is a cap on numbers so registration is required by either calling in at the library, ringing 571 8008 or emailing tepuke@westernbay.govt.nz.
There is also a minimum age of 8 and children should be accompanied by an adult. Linda says making your own decorations means they can be personalised, they can be made to be given as gifts or they can be individual to celebrate things such as a new birth.
The Crafternoon will take place on November 26 starting at 3.15pm.
