A car crashed into a fence, a parked car and a house last night.
Mount Maunganui Fire Station Officer Paul van Kol said last night's crew attended a motor vehicle accident on Gloucester Rd, Mount Maunganui where a "young fella" hit a fence, a parked car and then hit a house.
Mr van Kol said the man came out unscathed.
"The fire brigade opened the door when they arrived and asked if he was okay, he said yes and asked if he could make a phone call."
Property owner Noeline Wallace said at 11.30pm she woke up to an "almighty bang".
"It was like thunder."
The driver of the car careened through Mrs Wallace's front fence and hit her parked car, causing it to be shunted through the neighbour's fence.
The driver's car ended up crashing into the kitchen.
"We were lucky we had the car parked where it was, it stopped the other car from crashing into our house as much."
Mrs Wallace said the driver was taken away by police. An ambulance was called to the scene, but she did not believe there had been any injuries.
Western Bay head of road policing, Senior Sergeant Ian Campion, said preliminary investigations showed alcohol may have been a factor.
