Car crashes 30m down bank in Pyes Pa

The driver of a car which crashed about 30m down a bank has been found semi-conscious and slumped over in the car as rescuers come to her aid.

Emergency services were called to a car that had crashed down a bank opposite 347 Pyes Pa Rd about 2.30pm.

A nearby resident saw the car plow through a fence and down the bank.

The man who raced down the hill to help the young woman and found her slumped over towards to passenger seat and semi-conscious in her car.

The driver's door was dented in but he managed to pry it open and sit her up, he said.

A nurse who came across the scene helped until emergency services arrived.

The female driver was taken to hospital by ambulance.

Fire fighters and police are still at the scene.

Earlier: A person has been seriously injured after a car crashed 30m down a bank.

Fire Service northern communications centre shift manager Scott Osmond said emergency services had been alerted to the crash about 2.30pm.

The car had crashed about 30m down a bank near a roundabout on Pyes Pa Rd.

The patient was seriously injured but not trapped.

Police, fire and ambulance staff are at the scene.
