A car and motorbike have collided in Mount Maunganui.

A police media communications spokeswoman said police were alerted by St John Ambulance that a car and motorbike had collided on Tweed St about 4.30pm.

The spokeswoman said the incident occurred near Maunganui Rd and Fife Lane.

It was unclear if anyone was injured.
