Whangamatā's top golf team are calling on players and non-golfers alike to join them for breakfast at Whangamatā Golf Club as they take on the challenge of the Waikato Championship pennants.
"This will be serious golf in our own backyard!" says John McCombe.
"Come and support the boys' finals daybefore we go into battle with a huge breakfast at the Whangamatā Golf Club at 7.15am, Sunday, 21 June."
It will be the shortest day so players are being careful to make use of the daylight. The first and second final starting round will begin at midday, after the morning result.
Six teams participate from around the Waikato for final rankings.
The men's pennants golf team played serious top-level golf to win both six-man matches at Putaruru during the week.
The morning games in cold crisp conditions had the team face a determined Hauraki squad holding Whangamatā to a four games to two victory.
With a home final as the prize the team slowly but effectively took control over Te Kowhia in the afternoon, winning four games drawing one and a loss.

"Our new number one player Sam Vincent - a young Whangamatā golfer - led the way with Andrew Priestley, Logan Scott, Paul Hollard, Bryan Grafas and Alan Smith all contributing to the final result," says McCombe.
A limited number of golf carts are available for hire, so the club recommends those who may wish to access one should book early.
