This weekend Bay women are expected to flock to the Bay of Plenty Times offices as the fourth indulge Bay Model kicks off in association with Blur Eyecare.

Last year's competition attracted about 100 women and Bay of Plenty Times event manager Dayna Comeskey expected to exceed that number this year based on the entries already received.

"This year the event is bigger and better than before. This weekend it's a very casual meet and greet where you fill in a form, have a few pictures taken and meet some of the team."

This year the event has more designers involved. indulge editor Annemarie Quill, one of the judges, said the team was delighted the event had attracted high-profile local designers.

"It is great to have local company Blur involved as they really lead the way in New Zealand eyewear style. We are thrilled to have on board three awesome local fashion houses - all of whom embody the style of the indulge women - Sisters & Co, Augustine, and George Edward."

The 18-25 category was sponsored by Sisters & Co, the 26-39 category sponsored by Augustine and the 40-plus category sponsored by George Edward.

"There is also the Eves Realty People's Choice Award winner. Each week you will be able to vote for your favourite finalist from the 15 women," Ms Quill said.

Bay of Plenty and Waikato marketing manager Samantha Wilkie said this year's event would be part of a week of indulge events in October.

"Not only do we have the indulge Bay Model event on October 9, but we are bringing back the indulge designer outlet sale the next day. And during the week we have a brand new indulge event - a speaker collective."

As well as Blur and the fashion houses, indulge Bay Model was also supported by Majesty Mortgage and Insurance, Ingham Sears, Eves Realty, Tranquillo Beauty Clinic, Hammon Diamond Jewellers, Image Hub, Fletcher Print, and The Hits Bay of Plenty.
