Battle to be shown on national screen

A part of Tauranga's history will be shown on the silver screen on Sunday.

TVOne programme Waka Huia will be screening an half-hour documentary about the Battle of Gate Pa from 10.30am on Sunday, the last of a four-part series about the land wars.

The documentary has interviews with local Tauranga people and footage from the 150th anniversary commemoration events on April 29.

It was directed by Piata Gardiner-Hoskins, originally from Tauranga.
