Ricki Herbert Football Academy players based at the Tauranga Talent Centre were recently selected to be part of national age group squads that travelled to Sydney to compete in the 2016 Sydney Youth Cup.

Those Tauranga based players were Hunter Bumby (under-10), Connor O'Brien, Tanner Dean, Lucas Loveridge, Tyrone Laurent-Stokes (under-11) and Lachlan Beale (under-12).

The Sydney Youth Cup tournament ran for four days and was based in and around the Olympic Park precinct in Sydney.

After remaining undefeated for the full four days the NZ under-11 squad were crowned champions and awarded with medals and the cup to bring home to New Zealand.

Well done to all the players who did so well.
