A wedding ring has been in the lost property at Mount Social Club for a while.

A Mount bar is trying to find the owner of a wedding ring.

Mount Social Club owner Lucas Fleury said a cleaner found the ring and put it in the lost property.

"We've had it for a couple of weeks, but we think it might have been lost earlier than that," he said.

Someone had inquired about a ring after a party but the ring had not been found at that stage, and they didn't have that person's details.

The ring is a plain yellow gold band. The size suggested it might belong to a man.

A date is engraved inside - 15.07.2014. There are also names, but Mr Fleury said he was holding those back and would confirm them with whoever claimed the ring.

"It would be nice to reunite the ring with its owner."
