Traffic jam clogs Tauranga Harbour Bridge

Mount Maunganui traffic has come to a stand still on Tauranga Harbour Bridge this afternoon.

Former Tauranga City Councillor Murray Guy said he was one of the many drivers caught in the pile up.

Mr Guy was driving a bus load of cruise ship passengers back to their ship but have come to a stand still.

''We've literally been sitting here for 15 minutes,'' Mr Guy said.

''It's disconcerting as there are clients on board who need their medicine. They were supposed to be back at 3.30pm.''

Traffic was moving north into the city but Mount Maunganui-bound was not moving at all, he said.
