The man accused of killing a Russian man by running him down on a Tauranga road last year has today pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Raymond Green, 32, faced an original charge of murder following the death of Ilya Olegovich Kojevnikov on Welcome Bay Rd on February 2, 2015.
Green appeared in Tauranga High Court today where Crown prosecutor Anna Pollett sought leave to amend the murder charge to one count of manslaughter, which was approved by Justice Christian Whata.
Green pleaded guilty to the charge and he was remanded in custody by Justice Whata.
No sentencing date has yet be scheduled but the case will be re-called in the same court on March 1 for further discussions about when Justice Whata can sentence Green,
