The AA have released their annual 101 Must Do list for travellers, with four local outfits making the cut.
Bay of Plenty Islands tours, Karangahake Gorge, Te Puna Quarry Park and ENZED V8 Jetsprints have been named in the sought after list.
The AA Traveller team's new list of 101 Must Do's this Kiwi Summer covers the length and breadth of New Zealand with a host of places to explore, that will be new for many, along with a range of specific activity and events.
AA General Manager Club Operations Peter Moxon said the original 101 Must Do's list for Kiwis was launched in 2006 and was hugely successful with people throughout New Zealand voting on their favourite experiences.
The list was recreated with a second run and public vote two years ago, which saw Hanmer Springs take the top spot.
"With 101 Must Do's this Kiwi Summer we're not replacing the 2012 list, we've created list specifically designed for summer to complement what we already know is hugely valued by much of New Zealand," Mr Moxon said.
"We're providing fresh ideas on what to do and where to go this summer and reinforcing to New Zealanders that we live in an amazing place with a massive range of things to see and do. There's no shortage of ideas out there."
The 101 Must Do's this Kiwi Summer list includes Abel Tasman National Park where people can tramp, kayak or just put their feet up in unspoilt native forest just an hour from Nelson in the top of the South Island.
As part of the 101 Must Do's this Kiwi Summer launch, AA Traveller and campaign partner Caltex are providing people with the chance to tick off some of the new list with a three week competition launched today.
Every day, two of the Must Do's will go head-to-head to give Kiwis the chance to vote for their favourite. Those who vote for what becomes the most popular activity, attraction or place each day will go in the draw to win a corresponding prize along with $200 Caltex StarCash.
