A Te Puna teenager charged with using a cricket bat to rob two men in Bethlehem will reappear in Tauranga District Court next month.
Caylum Ford, 17, appeared in court today on two counts of aggravated robbery, and one charge of injuring with intent to injure.
The charges stem from an incident on Bethlehem Rd in December, when it is alleged Ford approached two men and subsequently robbed them of their cellphones and wallets with a plastic cricket bat.
Police allege that during the robbery Ford struck one of the complainants over the head with the plastic bat resulting in a deep cut to the man's right eye.
Ford allegedly demanded the complainants hand over their property and after the men complied he has then run off back towards his home.
It was unknown whether the complainants were known to Ford.
He is yet to enter pleas to the three charges.
