Diane Fox and her daughters are proof that artistic ability can run in the family.

In fact, three generations in the Fox clan are blessed with art prowess and the "Foxy ladies" are holding an exhibition to showcase their combined talents.

The Foxy Ladies Art Exhibition, comprising more than 50 pieces of artwork, will be held at Zeus Gallery from tomorrow until November 16. It features the work of matriarch Diane Fox, Sally Wylie, Cecilie Elliott and Anna Dixon.

Third generation family members are also displaying some artwork (Hayley Elliott-Kernot and Joel Dixon).

Diane is an ex-gallery owner. Her semi-impressionist styles are part of collections in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. She tries to capture moods and beauty that surrounds her in her artwork.

Sally is an art teacher at Mount Maunganui Intermediate. She is inspired by environmental aspects and cubism which can be seen in her often-colourful works.

Cecilie, an education adviser in New Plymouth, is more of a forager, creating art from items collected from the beach. Anna is an art specialist and runs professional development workshops for teachers throughout the country. Her work is more "expressionist contemporary" and her recent works explore spirituality and sexuality.

The exhibition is something the ladies have always wanted to do and they say they are pleased to be able to share their art together.
