The search for Jack Dixon will take to the skies today as volunteers being looking for the missing five-year-old from the air.

Members of the Tauranga Aero Club will begin a three hour search from 10am today.

Tauranga Aero Club member James Churchward said they would scan about a 5 mile area along the Bay coast plus search the inner Tauranga Harbour area.

There will be one plane plus some spotters in the aircraft volunteering their time, Mr Churchward said.

The club were going to begin a search at the weekend but was hampered by poor weather, he said.
