Tauranga was treated to a show by some of the world's best freestyle motocross and BMX riders on Saturday, all in the name of charity.
Tauranga ex-professional motocross rider Luke Price pulled the event together in Fraser Cove carpark to raise money for Cure Kids.
Levi Sherwood, 2013 freestyle motocross world champion, was among those donating stunt time, as well as the world's first BMX triple backflip exponent, Jed Mildon.
Mr Price said he was touched by the riders' enthusiasm.
"For me it's pretty humbling to be riding with these guys ... people have been so giving.
"It's the first [event] I know of where riders have donated their time."
It had been three months of hard work organising the event but seeing the public enjoying the action and raising money for Cure Kids made all the effort worthwhile, Mr Price said.
He had put on a similar event in 2006, fundraising for Yellow Ribbon, but hoped this year would be the start of an annual show, aiding a different charity each year as well as providing a spectacle for Tauranga.
"A lot of people in Tauranga have helped me in my career so it's nice to be able to give back to my home town." he said. "A lot of the men involved were long-time friends who had grown up together, and rode together professionally."
Cure Kids was a great charity to support because of the work it did for families across New Zealand, Mr Price said.
