Simon Bridges has again been elected as the MP for Tauranga.

Simon Bridges has again been elected as the MP for Tauranga.

Thousands of Tauranga residents turned out to vote yesterday, voting in Simon Bridges for another term.

Mr Bridges had a 13,000 majority ahead of New Zealand First's Clayton Mitchell and Labour's Rachel Jones.

However, Mr Mitchell has made it into Parliament off his party's list. Mrs Jones has missed out on a spot in Parliament.

Here's the full results for Tauranga:

Simon Bridges, National: 18,967
Clayton Mitchell, NZ First: 5441
Rachel Jones, Labour: 5290
Ian McLean, Greens: 1821
Nathaniel Heslop, Conservatives: 965
Verna Ohia-Gate, Maori: 167
Michael O'Neill, New Zealand Independent Coalition: 160
Stuart Pedersen, Act: 132
James Maxwell, United Future: 80
Rusty Kane, Independent: 69
Yvette Lamare, Independent: 41
