Colin Meads will be the guest of honour in an assorted night of entertainment, packed full of memories and highlights about the ever-popular rugby great.
A Tribute to Sir Colin Meads will be a gala dinner at which guests can rub shoulders with celebrities such as Sir Brian Lochore, Keith
Quinn, Dick Tayler, Jamie Mackay, Peter Williams and Peter "Blackie" Blackwell while hearing some classic stories about Colin "Pinetree" Meads.
Meads was one of our greatest All Blacks and is considered a national hero. He played 133 games (from 1957 to 1971) and in his 55 test matches scored seven tries. Meads (who doesn't like to be called Sir Colin) was captain on four occasions.
The gala dinner organisers are Events Innovated. Director Heath Ingham says Meads has also given a tremendous amount of help and support to many Kiwi organisations and charities, including the Tauranga and Bay of Plenty community in many ways.
"Colin is such an iconic character and has done so much for so many people ... we just want to say thanks."
