Ticket sales fly high for Nitro Circus

Adrenalin junkies are snapping up tickets for Nitro Circus' first visit to Tauranga next February, smashing previous records from opening week ticket sales in the major metropolitan cities.

Nitro Circus will be in Tauranga for the first time for a performance at ASB Baypark Stadium, as part of a six-date national tour.

Almost 3000 tickets sold in the first three days for the action event, dubbed the most explosive show on the planet.

Ervin McSweeney, commercial manager ASB Baypark, said Nitro Circus should bring a good crowd to the city from around the region.

"It's no surprise that early ticket sales are strong. With it being the first time ASB Baypark has hosted Nitro Circus, and the venue's easy accessibility to people from around the region, we are expecting people to snap up tickets for Christmas presents, and the event may well sell out in advance."

Two of New Zealand's own are leading the Nitro Circus charge, riding on home soil for the first time since making global headlines. Palmerston North FMX rider Levi Sherwood recently won the world champion title at the Nitro World Games.

Jed "The Warrior" Mildon will also perform; the Taupo man shook the action sports landscape in May 2015 with his quadruple BMX backflip - the first ever landed in BMX.
