Two local teen bands will play at the Mount Main Beach at New Year's Eve after winning Tauranga's Battle of the Bands.
Local band Eyes of May - an alternative rock band made up of six Years 12 and 13 boys from Tauranga Boys' College - came out on top. The MSix - a trio of northern English 16-year-old boys from Aquinas - came a close second.
On New Year's Eve, The MSix will play a 20-minute set from 8pm, followed by a longer set from Eyes of May.
Both bands will be styled for their performance courtesy of Hallensteins, Bayfair, and Eyes of May will also be awarded with a $1000 Bayfair Shopping Centre gift card.
